About the Charleston Basket Brigade

The Charleston Basket Brigade (CBB) was founded by close friends Pam Hartley and Michelle Scarafile in 2008 and  has raised a total of $138,990 to feed 4,633 local families in need at Thanksgiving, approximately 28,000 Charleston tri-county residents, over the past four years. It only takes $30 to feed a family of six. The meal includes a 10-12 lb. turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie, fresh rolls and butter.  Each family receives an anonymous letter inside the basket that reads “This comes to you from someone who cares about you.  All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else one day.” The CBB is a 501-(3) (c) nonprofit. Individual and corporate donations are tax deductible can be made online at www.CharlestonBasketBrigade.com.  All major credit cards are accepted and 100% of the donations go towards buying food.  For more information, visit www.CharlestonBasketBrigade.com.

  • PDF
The Lowcountry Business Network has adopted Charleston Basket Brigade as our charity for 2011! The Basket Brigade feeds hungry families LOCALLY at Thankgiving. The first year, they fed 75 families. The second year, they raised over $12,900 to feed 430 families.  All in all, the Charleston Basket Brigade has raised a total of $63,990 and fed more than 12,000 local residents in need over the past three years.

Basket Brigade's GOAL has set an even higher goal this year! With your help, they will raise $75,000 and feed 2,500 FAMILIES(That's 15,000 people)!

And Thanksgiving is just around the corner! What we really gave these families is the ability to gather around their own dinner table with their loved ones on Thanksgiving vs. going to a soup kitchen, church, or going without.  What an amazing gift to be able to give!

Your generous donation of $30 feeds a family of six and 100% of your donation goes entirely to food!

It is an enormous effort that would not happen without the generosity of so many of our friends (including you!), professional partners and community members.
